About Saving Grace Outreach

Fifteen years of serving rural families in Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties — meeting practical needs and building pathways toward lasting stability.

Our Story

Saving Grace Outreach was established in 2009 to provide emergency food, clothing, household items, furniture, and shelter to rural families through Trading Post South. As community needs grew, so did our mission — and in 2016 we launched the Community Cares Center, transforming from emergency relief into a comprehensive hub of stability and opportunity.

During the COVID epidemic in 2019, the Center became an essential lifeline — providing food, personal care items, baby essentials, hygiene supplies, and support for partner pantries so that no household went without basic necessities during an unprecedented crisis. Since then, we have expanded into free classes, cooking and health clinics, job readiness support, hydroponic gardening, and life skills training to help residents build confidence and long-term independence.

In 2022, we opened a youth center offering STEM programs, healthy activities, outdoor exercise, hydroponic gardening, and cooking classes — bringing enrichment opportunities to rural children who would otherwise go without. In 2024, we added after-school support and launched an evening food pantry for working families. Since 2011, we have also provided emergency assistance and shelter support for single parents, seniors, and families living paycheck to paycheck.

Feeding programs have grown by more than 255% since 2009, serving children, elderly residents, veterans, disabled individuals, and struggling families. For fifteen years, we have operated as a one-stop resource hub in a rural area with no nearby grocery store, gas station, laundry, or public transportation — filling critical gaps in access to basic services.

Today, Saving Grace Outreach is entering a transformational phase. In 2026, we began renovating the 9,000 square foot upper floor of the Community Cares Center to add permanent STEM education rooms, medical services, counseling spaces, a community kitchen, meeting rooms, shared office space for partner agencies, and transitional apartments — ensuring families have access not only to emergency assistance but also to long-term pathways toward stability and success.

Dedicated to restoring hope and dignity, our organization serves as a pillar of support for families in need. By utilizing a dignified trade-based commerce model in our thrift store, we empower our neighbors to acquire essentials through their own contributions. Our commitment to the community extends into the classroom through collaborative nutrition programs, providing over 35,000 individuals annually with essential weekend food security. We strive to meet basic human needs with the same compassion and respect we have been shown by our Creator.

Everything we do flows from a conviction that God calls us to love our neighbors — not in word only, but in deed and in truth.

We take seriously the trust placed in us by donors, partners, and the community. Every resource is used with care and accountability.
